Tell Me More…
If you come in with an ACC45 number you are entitled to 12 sessions to be used within 12 weeks covered partially by ACC.
Note: Acupuncturists can’t start ACC claims but your Doctor, Physiotherapist, Osteopath or Chiropractor can start you a claim. Once you have the claim we are able to use the number to bill ACC for your 12 sessions.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Acupuncture is commonly used to support recovery from injuries and may help ease pain by promoting circulation, supporting the body’s natural healing processes, and helping to regulate inflammation. At Acupuncture by Jena, I use traditional acupuncture points alongside specialised motor points to help release muscle tension, encourage relaxation, and support your body’s natural balance during recovery.
Acupuncture is commonly used to support pain management and may help by influencing the nervous system. Through precise needle placement, treatment aims to encourage the body’s natural pain-relieving responses and support healthy nervous system function.

Treatments
Your first visit with me is an hour, while follow-up treatments are 50 minutes.
Initial Appointment: What to Expect
At Acupuncture by Jena, I value the importance of your initial visit, which begins with an in-depth consultation.
During this consultation, I ask a ton of detailed questions with each question being integral in shaping the ideal therapy tailored to your specific needs.
Then acupuncture points are skillfully selected based on your unique requirements and desired outcomes.
During your acupuncture session, fine needles are gently inserted and are typically left in place for approximately 25-45 minutes. This allows you to relax in the soothing ambiance of the treatment room, where your comfort is a priority.
Subsequent visits are generally shorter in duration and typically do not include a full consultation. Instead, I may engage in a brief discussion about the progress you’ve experienced and the changes and improvements you may have noticed in various aspects of your well-being, such as sleep quality, mood, and stress levels. This ongoing dialogue helps us ensure that your treatment plan remains aligned with your evolving needs and goals.
Frequency of Sessions
You will be allocated 12 sessions in 12 weeks (1 session a week) or until your issue has resolved.

FAQ
What if I need more than 12 sessions?
If you need more than 12 sessions I can apply to ACC on your behalf and ask that more sessions be covered.
What if I don’t have an ACC45 number but what happened to me was an accident?
You will need to see one of the health professionals noted above to start an ACC claim. Your sessions cant be subsidized by ACC until you have been given an ACC45 number.
Does it hurt?
No, acupuncture is virtually painless. The needles used are fine and flexible, often compared to a human hair or a cat whisker. Most people find acupuncture extremely relaxing and even fall asleep during treatment.
